Sunshine Coast Council Deputy Mayor, Councillor Chris Thompson invites you to join him on a Trade Mission to China and Hong Kong where you will gain market knowledge and connections to build long term economic relationships.

The Trade Mission will provide a unique and facilitated opportunity for Sunshine Coast businesses and institutions to explore new business opportunities. The Trade Mission is expected to leverage the Sunshine Coast’s key strength as a service based knowledge economy and a leading destination for education and tourism. The Sunshine Coast’s relationship with Xiamen began as a sister-city endeavour but over the years has grown and matured into a strong cultural friendship and we are now seeing increasing business linkages.
Oir two cities have much in common: we are both located in coastal areas; we are both holiday destinations; and we are both environmentally conscious regions.
The participants for the Trade Mission will be drawn from industry organisations with expertise in education services, tourism services and knowledge intensive business services to the education/tourism sectors.
China and Hong Kong represent new opportunities for the Sunshine Coast. The region is well placed to capture a greater share of the inbound tourist market leveraging off our natural advantage and experiences from the hinterland to beaches and growing interest in eco-tourism.
Don’t miss out - apply before 5 May 2014. Apply by completing the Expression of Interest form in the attached document. A Sunshine Coast Council representative will then contact you to discuss whether this mission offers opportunities that are well-matched to your business.
