We're very pleased with Australia Post's announcement that the Montville Post Office is to re-open on 3 March 2014. This is a great outcome and well done to the Montville community and Chris and Ann Wells of the Montville IGA X-press, who have all worked together to make this happen.

The following information has been provided in communications from Australia Post:

"Australia Post is pleased to announce that a new Montville Licensed Post Office will open for business at the Montville IGA X-press, 168 Main Street, on Monday 3 March 2014.

The new post office will offer a full range of postal products and services including bill payment and banking as well as PO Boxes. In the meantime, stamps and prepaid satchels are available at the IGA X-press.

All PO Boxes that were recently relocated to Mapleton will be moved to the Montville IGA X-press over the weekend of 1-2 March 2014. This means that you will unable to access your PO Box from 5 pm on Friday 28 February until 9 am on Monday 3 March 2014.

Any mail left in your PO Box on Friday 28 February will be transferred to Montville and available to collect from your PO Box from Monday 3 March 2014.

New keys will be required to access your box at Montville, these will be available for collection from the Montville IGA X-press from 9 am on Monday 3 March. Importantly, your PO Box number, mailing address, will remain unchanged.

The street mail delivery service that was recently introduced in the local area, will remain in place. You will continue to receive a reduced rate for your PO Box until 30 April 2015.

If you would prefer to keep your PO Box at Mapleton, please contact Susan Schwartz, Network Manager, Retail Network Partnerships at Australia Post, via fax (07 3405 1605) or email ([email protected]) by 31 January 2014."

Well done to the Montville Community for a successful outcome!
